Why are Ricans always the boxers(the ones who use their skills to pay the bills), and most Mexican fighters(with the exception of JMM) are mostly brawlers who rely on their heart?

Though Juanma Lopez(Rican) and Soto(Mexican) are kind of weird fighters. Those two elect to box at times and sometimes will fight in a more brawling style depending on the opponent. Lopez almost lost because he was brawling with that opponent Mtagwa. Soto usually looks like a technically skilled boxer at times, but has shown when thrown in against someone like Joan Guzman, it makes him look like a one dimensional fighter because Guzman is quite skillful.

You can't win a fight with just heart and no skill dumb @ss. U can have the biggest balls in the world but if u have no fighting skill you're going to sleep. Some guys might not b able 2 float like a butterfly but they have punching skill. Anyway I think the rivalry started after the Sanchez - Gomez fight. My pr friemd told me it was a very sad night for the whole country. He said his family went to their neighbors house for comfort. It had to b that fight coz if any 1 saw that full fight could tell u that even b4 the fight started the mariachi band was battling the f#ckin salsa band. They were going back and forth playing their music.

The Mexico – Puerto Rico boxing rivalry is a highly competitive sports rivalry that exists between boxers from the two countries, as well as their respective sets of fans.

Historically, Mexican and Puerto Rican boxers have fought many important fights against each other. It should be observed that the supposed rivalry between boxers from Mexico and Puerto Rico has been a balanced one, as the winning percentage for these two groups of boxers against the other group is about the same.

We even had our self proclaimed gran campeon. Chavez was announced by jimmy lennan jr as "el gran campeon Mexicano" then his rein was over and Tito was named "el gran campeon puertoriqueno" the competitiveness of these 2 countries is beautifull

Its fun to watch and hardcore fans from both sides are so emotional. Two countries that have a long boxing culture go head to head
