Why do they fight? TO MAKE MONEY!
So if you could could make 300,000 or 5 mill what would you choose? So if AA is busy and you can make yourself a bigger name while he is busy, shouldn't you make your name bigger? Wouldn't that make for a bigger fight?
Since AA is not a house hold name it isn't the fight a casual fan wants to see. This is ultimately a business, without a fight Pavlik has no job.
AA is only 28 and has a lot more fights in him.
Pavlik is 26 and has a lot more fights in him.
Hopkins is 43 and has maybe 1 year left in him(at most 2 fights).
Calzaghe is 36 and has expressed the desire to retire in the near future(next 3 fights).
There is a time limit on fighting Cal and Hopkins. Both big money fights, AA will still be around by mid summer next year. This will also give AA a chance to build his name with 2 more fights with a well known fighter and get chance at a making this a big fight.
Please remember they fight to make money as well, when you are without a fight you are unemployed if you are a professional boxer.
This fight will happen both fighters expressed interest in fighting each other and unifying the belts. Just remember there is still time. Show a little patience because the more experience both fighters get the more they will bring to the table when they fight. Pavlik is trying to fight two all time greats in Cal and Hopkins, and you are going to judge him for ducking a relatively unknown fighter to the casual fan. Both of those fighters are much more difficult fights then AA. Hopkins is very strong at 170 though old his crafty style is hard to beat even at his age. Cal is undefeated for a reason.
All this said I can tell your a very special person and I hope when you go to ride the short bus you don't forget your helmet.
