Why? He's only fought once since losing to Mosley, and that was to a guy who was 9-4. I'd say give him the winner of Berto-Forbes but he won't exactly be roaring into the fight on the highest of notes.

The camp of WBC #1 welterweight Luis Collazo is protesting against the proposed WBC welterweight title eliminator request by Promoter Rodney Berman between Isaac Hlatshwayo and Jackson Osei Bonsu. "We are formally requesting that WBC #1 ranked Luis Collazo be named as the mandatory challenger to fight Andre Berto for the WBC welterweight title," wrote Collazo's manager Nirmal Lorick to WBC President Jose Sulaiman and the WBC Board of Governors. "If for any reason the board does not mandate Collazo as the mandatory challenger we should, at the least, be the first considered in any discussions in reference to any upcoming eliminator bouts. Luis is able and available to fight anyone in an eliminator for the mandatory position."

thats the last thing hatton wants... im not talking ****. i mean, he basically said it right after the fight. he said he felt the punches, he was hurt, and 147 is too much for him. only reason he came back up was to take a shot at the best and get paaaiiiid in the process. collazo is too much risk, too little reward- just like with berto.

shame he broke his hand in the 2nd against mosley. not saying he would have won, but he would have had a much better showing and would be in a better bargaining position as a result. as of now, he can barely get a fight. p williams wont fight him either. he used collazo for sparring against quintana and he knows how good lou is- he doesnt wanna risk it either.

In fairness... if Berto isn't ready for Luis Collazo, he doesn't deserve a title nor can he handle any elite. Seriously, Collazo is about the bottom of the barrell when it comes to good WWs.

I like Collazo, but... he managed to drop a decision to a Ricky Hatton who sucks at WW, and then lost almost every round to Sugar Shane. He hasn't really proven himself as a badass WW, yet.
