Pavlik and Arum wanted the Calzaghe fight before Hopkins name was even mentioned.Calzaghe said in the past "I would move down in weight to fight Pavlik" then later on his father had a long rant on youtube saying how "Pavlik isn't ready for him" and now Calzaghe said "he might fight Pavlik after Jones".With Joe's split personalities it would be nearly impossible to negotiate a fight with him.

It doesn't mean that, it just means he wants to get his mandatories out of the way before fighting Calzaghe so that he doesn't lose his belts.

It's a sensible decision because at 168 he will get beat by Calzaghe.
