Pavlik can decision Hopkins easy even if the fight is ugly.
I think Pavik would KO Calzaghe.
Pavlik-Abraham would be the best fight of the four but I'd see a Pavlik KO victory
Pavlik-Dawson is an interesting matchup as well and could go either way like Pavlik-AA but I like a Pavlik decision

    Interesting breakdown

He Could Beat Hopkins On Workrate... (simply Because Popkins Will Be 44)
        Pavlik Probably Beats Him

I Suspect He Beats Abraham... (beating Miranda Does Not Make You Invincible)
        Pavlik Probably Beats Him

Calzaghe Is Ofetn Overrated But He Does Have A Good Chin And Pavlik Is The Type Of Fighter Joe Would Be Comfortable With. Pavlik Won't Win A Decision Over Joe...
        Joe Probably Beats Him

I Don't Understand Why People Think Pavlik Can Beat Dawson... Dawson Atleast Matches Him For Power At 175 - Alot Of Pavlik's Dominance Is Due To The Size And Strength Advantage He Has At 160.. At 175 He's Not Gonna Overwhelm Dawson Who Is Somebody That Just Fought Glen Johnson. Dawson Has Longer Reach, An Inch Taller And Better Boxing Skills He's Faster Better Variation Of Punches Etc.. The Only Flaw Is His Suspect Chin. But Pavilk Has Been Down Himself. Its Seems Wierd To Assume That A LIMITED Power Puncher At 160 Moves Up To 175 And Beats A Much More Well Rounded Fighter
        Dawson Most Likely Beats Him

And I might add that the Adamek win was a good one.

I'm still amused by the thread title, listing 4 opponents then saying can Pavlik get past all 3. Had to say it. I'll leave Dawson out as he's an unlikely opponent in the nearby future certainly.

If Pavlik beats Hopkins, Abraham and Calzaghe he deserves mad mad props. I just don't think he will.

Hopkins: Yes, but I think it'll be in a similar vein to the way Calzaghe beat him, unless Pavlik lands a bomb on Hopkins in the later rounds.

Calzaghe: No, he loses a one-sided decision. Pavlik's style is tailor-made for Calzaghe; a come-forward fighter who punches straight without much handspeed. I give him the chance of every puncher, but not much more unless Calzaghe gets old overnight.

Abraham: 60/40 in Pavlik's favour. By no means an easy fight, but one he should win. Tough fight though and one I can see Abraham winning still.

Dawson: No, he loses a fairly comfortable decision. I feel Dawson is too slick and Pavlik is too one dimensional. I'm not sold on Dawson's chin though, so maybe Kelly stops him late.

I love Pavlik's fighting style, but to be brutally honest, it isn't a style that will beat too many elite fighters. He needs to learn to adapt.

Dawson looked lost at times against old man Johnson. Someone who is as young as Dawson should not be struggling against an old man. I would still pick Dawson against Pavlik though. Maybe by a mid to late KO.

Calzaghe has a good chin and Pavlik would not be able to seriously hurt him. Calzaghe would walk through the best punches Pavlik has to offer and use his superior boxing skills and movement to win by a UD.

Hopkins has all the tools to beat Pavlik. As we all know from the Calzaghe fight, Hopkins was rarely hit with any meaningful shots and made life hard for Calzaghe. If a boxer with the ability and range of punches Calzaghe has can't get through and land on the elusive Hopkins, I don't see how the predictable left, left, right of Pavlik will. To be honest, Pavlik will still win this fight with his workrate alone. I call a close decision for Pavlik.

                    Pavlik would beat Abraham.

He will have lots of trouble with Hopkins but his workrate will most likely get him through the fight, a younger hopkins would beat him.

Against Calzaghe he gets outboxed and loses a decision, Pavlik always comes foward and i just see him walking into counter shots. Calzaghe's superior speed and footwork will also help him win.

Against abraham pavliks higher workrate and more effective punches win him a decision.

A dawson fight would be at 175 where pavliks power, etc would be dimished and if dawson can avoid and handle his punches he beats pavlik.
