    Nowhere close? Come on...

Calzaghe has been put on his ass by single punch not once, but twice from guys who can't even punch any better than Taylor, and Pavlik took several flush shots in row before taking a knee.

The only time Calzaghe has been really hurt in his career was when Byron Michell, a real puncher, hit Joe "the hardest he had ever hit a human being". It was a single shot, Joe went down, hurt and was up to KO him the same round. The Hopkins KD was a flash knockdown of an off balance fighter. Joe has made a virtue of walking through his opponents best shots throughout his career.

Pavlik may have an alright chin, but fighters with great ones, like Calzaghe, Hopkins and Margarito just do not take knees, hurt, from flurries of so-so Jermain Taylor punches. Its as simple as that. I'm not saying Pavlik is someone who is china chinned, but he was not far AT ALL from being KOd by Taylor, though credit to him for coming back from it. Calzaghe has the better chin by a mile, until Kelly pavlik can show otherwise.

he could beat Hopkins by a close decision due to his workrate and Hopkins age.

Calzaghe would outbox him and win a UD due to his superior speed and footwork.

          Pavlik wins UD over Abraham.

i do not know about dawson.

I think he beats Hopkins and also Abraham if he avoids getting KTFO.

I can imagine Calzaghe mugging Pavlik all night long, getting inside his reach, turning him and doing pretty much as he pleases. Any opponent that walks onto Calzaghe is going to lose unless they can actually get him out of there. In short it would be like the Kessler fight without the first four rounds.

Dawson would look like god himself against Pavlik.

I think that Kelly is not real fast or slick but he is a world champion of 34-0 with 30 KOs for a reason. He has a KO over Taylor who has been in with some hitters for a reason. He is a bit slicker then people give him credit for, watch some of the little things he does, moves his right up to block the jab. His head movement is solid it enough that a lot of punches shave his face. He does a lot of little things that aren't flashy but more efficient then you realize.

Now there have been a lot of champions who have had power but no real flash, Tszyu and Chavez two greats come to mind. Neither looked special but they both just hit ****ing hard. In fact in some aspects Pavlik is very similar to Tszyu, not real flashy, a stalker, one-two is his winning combo, the ability to KO a fighter with one punch. Pavlik beat a more "talented" fighter in Taylor(similar to Tszyu over Judah). Basically solid boxing ability with nasty power.

Pavlik doesn't look amazing but he is sharper then a lot of people give him credit for, he always adjust breaks down his opponents with body and head shots. He is very accurate, and has a workman rate. His jab is commanding and over powering due to his consistency, you don't want to get hit by it. His jab does take over fights and it does set him up for everything.

                Pavlik's Chin:
Everyone acts like Taylor punches soft, Taylor hits hard, his KO record isn't high because he has fought a high level of competition since he was young. Hopkins, Wright, Joppy, Ouma, Spinks all were champions, plus he fought lots of contenders. Taylor also seems to favor flash to power. When he sits on his punches he has solid power. That was the only time you have ever seen him really in trouble and he knocked his ass out.

Now I am not saying he will beat any of them but he can beat all of them. He ****ing hits hard, his systematic break down has worked in every case so far for a reason. Again he can beat them although the odds may be against him.

Pavlik-Dawson is actually a pretty cool concept, I'm not sure who'd win that since Pavlik is a big middleweight and Dawson is a small light heavyweight.
Pavlik can decision Hopkins easy even if the fight is ugly.
I think Pavik would KO Calzaghe.
Pavlik-Abraham would be the best fight of the four but I'd see a Pavlik KO victory
Pavlik-Dawson is an interesting matchup as well and could go either way like Pavlik-AA but I like a Pavlik decision
