Joe Calzaghe should be arrested for beating up pensioners ,he fights outta of **** a division for 10 years and now he wants to beat upon on old men like Hopkins and Jones ,that really cements your legacy when two 40 year old men are the best fighers on your record ,do me a favour

the only thing good about Calzaghe record is the longevity he has had and that was only made possible by a piss poor division

when did calzaghe "beat up" hopkins. pretty sure it was the other way around. hopkins landed all the punches but calzaghe won you go girl!

Terrible, I posted something like "McCallum = Bum" in relation to Jones and Toney and you posted a lengthy discussion of the merits of "The Bodysnatcher" and how he'd been avoided by loads of boxers. The clear implication was that it was a good win for both guys, you should accept it and move on. I don't want to discuss it more really, I was only trying to annoy you.

u could say Toney fought a fairly prime McCallum but u will not have caught me saying Jones win over McCallum was a good win no way

my memory is not perfect and i dont mean to be so pedantic but i honestly cant remember talking up Jones win over McCallum all i can remember about it is telling someone not to use that win to padd Jones record as McCallum was to old

maybe i have used it though but like i said possibly only when others are trotting out someone else is resume and putting corpses on there to, i think that is fair if people wanna go down that line but as best wins go i dont think u can really use McCallum and compare it to one of Floyd best wins like an Oscar ,Hatton etc

if i have said Toney then i think i can be forgiven TBH McCallum was not all that old when Toney beat him and still a damn good fighter infact its debatable wether he lost to Toney IMO

What it means is that Hopkins was the best and most credible opponent Joe could have faced by a country mile, and proved it in the ring.

Gotta disagree with your choice of words , Bhop was not the best , what he had was a name and reputation , that gave them something they could hype , that on top of being 43 does not make it creditable , it makes it sell , history will record it for what it really is .

Bhop at 43 showed Joe is either not that special or he is at the end also , I honestly think if Kelly Pavlik is the real deal he will stop Bernard and Im a fan of Bhop , I think too many people are tagging Kelly as another Kessler , they have a similar look but thats where it stops , Kelly is a terminator to the core where is Kessler is a primadona , one wants to kill you one whats play touch football , Kelly is a very destructive fighter thats getting better every fight I dont think he is a flash in pan and Im confident he will send Bhop into retirement even if he dont stop him , Kelly will retire him from the pounding .

We'll see. I think he'll beat Hopkins, but I definitely think you overrate him. In my opinion Kessler is much better, and I prefer is style to Pavlik's, but its all just personal preference.

Also, tell me a boxer who would have given Calzaghe a harder time.

Jones is a different story though.

Oh come on. Hopkins was showing workrate problems before that fight. Even for him. See the Jermain Taylor fights.


A lost of us thought that Hopkins would not win a decision exactly the way it went down.
