Assuming Miguel wins without controversy --- Margarito obviously deserves no rematch.

• Should Camp Cotto make a serious effort to install Miguel as the opponent for De La Hoya's career swansong in December, with a view to luring Mayweather out of retirement for a showdown between the 2 in 09?

If not, which of the fighters around him @ welterweight should he target next?

I think an Andre Berto is at this stage still just a shade inexperienced to face a Miguel Cotto.

Who else is there?

• Should Camp Cotto quickly intervene in negotiations for the next fight of Paul Williams, assuming Williams can make it down to the welter limit again?

Or.

• With the man some had considered Cotto's main threat @ welter apparently serious about moving up to fight names @ middleweight, should Cotto consider moving up in search of new challenges?
  Does anyone think the idea of Cotto moving up to take a junior-middleweight title from a Sergio Mora is out of the question?

Or.

• If Cotto schedules a keep-busy fight for the Fall, should he entertain the thought of rematching Paulie Malignaggi @ welterweight if The Magic Man beats Hatton?
  Paulie has spoken of his desire to move up and avenge the Cotto loss, and if the Hatton fight sees him recapture the magic missing from his last 2 bouts the rematch could be an intriguing proposition.

If Cotto wins and Williams moves up there is not much left in the division for him IMO.
Moving up to fight ODLH in his swansong could prove costly, he has the tools but im not sure he is ready for what Oscar would bring in his last fight. There is the fact that he would very likely be able to call out Floyd if he does win though so that makes that possibility VERY interesting.
Moving up to face Mora is a no brainer, even the step up in weight wouldnt give Mora an edge, he is a paper champ and Cotto would break him down with no problems IMO
I also agree that Berto is not ready to face Cotto yet but give him a couple of live opponents and that may change.
IMO the best bet for him is to unify which i think, boxing politics aside, he would do easily and then follow Paul Williams up for what would be a great scrap.

If Cotto gets a chance for a big fat payday agaisnt ODLH, it is a no brainer since he is young and still has lot of road to travel... But I believe he will get rid off his mandatory in order to unify agaisnt any other WW Div tittle holder... for example, Berto.
