What is there not to like about Antonio Margarito???

Come on dude... one thing is to defend your favorite fighter and another thing is to believe Margarito is a 7 feet AZTEC WARRIOR born from a coyote who has no regards for human life, has never been defeated (his losses came through cheating and robbed fights due to corrupted judges), and is the most feared men in the planet. Sometimes I scrolled down the monitor 3-5 ****** ass threads by VIVA in order to be able to read a thread that made good sense.Comment

Yeah, man. I guess he's just a little over enthusiastic, you know?
You know, **** it, man. I'm not going to ask Big Poppa to create a separate forum for Viva, X-Carat, Ricky, Abadger, KrisSilver and Wlad after all. Forget it, that would have been mean spirited of me.
It's quite cute, in a way, their behaviour and loyalty. I wonder if they all have a copy of "Catcher in the Rye" that they want their idols to sign one day?Comment

I can list reasons why I hate him:
Slow
Overrated
Just plods foward and throws punches
Overrated
Pretty crappy resume considering how long he's been around
Did I mention overrated?
I usually (and don't for his case) like his style too. Not the brawling kind. I love that. The slow plod foward fighter who relies on his chin more then anything and just throws punches.Comment

His fans.
They are deluded and ignorant.
They say things like "Antionio Margarito is the whole package," which, obviously, is not true.Comment

Nice to read that. I was a fan of Margarito long before I came to this forum, so maybe that's why his fans don't have any negative effect on me. I hope that Tony represents himself well on Saturday. He will surely have to go through hell to do it.Comment

I hope you are willing to reconsider that after the Cotto fight. Or of course, you could be proven right.Comment

I hate NO boxer. I like Margarito, matter of fact. I watched Margarito vs Cintron 2, (it played right after Cotto vs. Judah on HBO) last night. It was a straight up brutal, methodical, and GREAT performance. Cintron hit him with a ****ing nuke in the fifth, and Margarito just smiled.
Got nothing but respect for Margarito.Comment

mayorga: Margarito was present at the post fight press conference of the Mayorga-Forrest fight to issue a challenge to the WBA/WBC champion.
spinks: We gave Kyvelos the opportunity to fight for the title when we did not have to. I believe he was ranked 5 or 6 by the WBO, but my promoter mentioned he had an agreement with his promoter (Don King) that the winner would fight the winner between Mayorga and Spinks. I knocked Kyvelos out, but I never got the opportunity to fight Spinks after he beat Mayorga.
judah: The potential bout between former welterweight champions Zab Judah and Antonio Margarito is in possible jeopardy due to Judah publicly proclaiming his status as a free agent.

mayweather: Pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. rejected promoter Bob Arum's $8 million offer to fight welterweight titlist Antonio Margarito, and he instead exercised a provision in his contract to buy Arum out and become a promotional free agent, Arum told ESPN.com on Monday.
mosley: Moments ago, Top Rank issued a press release which in part stated, "We are dismayed to read the statement of attorney Judd Burstein accusing Top Rank, in effect, of not telling the truth that Shane Mosley, Mr. Burstein's client, has refused to fight welterweight champion Antonio Margarito. Late yesterday, we were informed in a telephone conversation with a top programming executive for a top television network that Mr. Burstein had, indeed, informed that network that Shane would not fight Antonio under any circumstances. Of course, it is possible that the television executive misunderstood Mr. Burstein; or, perhaps more logically, that Mr. Burstein's statement to the television executive did not reflect his client's view of the matter. We are herewith making a firm offer to Shane Mosley to fight Antonio Margarito this summer for the welterweight championship. We will agree to pay a purse to Mr. Mosley of $1,100,000 for his participation in the bout. We will ask Mr. Mosley for no options or future rights regarding his career. If he defeats Antonio, which we regard as doubtful, he would be absolutely free to pursue his career in any manner he sees fit as the new welterweight champion. To accept this offer, all Shane, or Judd, have to do is send a fax to Top Rank accepting the offer with our permission for him to release such fax to the media."
