Early on I looked over the fact that he was 5'10 and a half fighting little guys at superfeatherweight, him getting that huge of an advantage still I overlooked that. I tried overlooking him fighting old legends who were way past their best to build his name even more, slowly with him doing this I was losing respect for him. It really does appear he will fight Pacquaio, a fighter who started at minimum weight, boxing's lowest weight and whom has had only one fight thus far at 135. Is this the best you can do Oscar, to go out on your horse and sombrero? Are there really no fighters from 154 to 147 you can find to fight? This is sickening and what would be more satisfying for me is if Pacquaio beats him. If Oscar had started at a more natural weight, say 147 for him and his 5'10 and a half frame, Hall of Fame and Oscar De La Hoya would never go in the same sentence, but when you starve yourself and tip the scales to gain an unfair advantage, the result is 10 belts in 6 weight classes. Sickening.
I've Never Had Much Respect For Oscar De La Hoya

i agree that him fighting smaller guys is wrong, but dlh is a very talented fighter and he would have suceeded even if he started at 147, just not as much -

a quote from the great Ric Flair "To be the best you have got to beat the best...and I am the best." The guy went after #1 Floyd Mayweather n lost Now he will go after Manny P. His losses were to great fighters..Sugar Shane Mosley, Tito Trinidad, Bernard Hopkins and Floyd Mayweather. Whats not to respect. I am not a Oscar guy but what he has done for boxing in the last 15 years gains my respect.Comment

Oscar was/is a very good fighter ,but a one handed fighter who is not hard to hit and he has stamina problems
and this has been the case throughout his careerComment
