Oscar De La Hoya is my favorite fighter. I hated seeing him lose against Hopkins but I respected the fact that he stepped up against a bigger fighter and gave it his all. Oscar is a true warrior who deserves all respect.

Boxing needs more De La Hoya's, he's fought everyone and I appreciate that.

I'm not taken one way or the other on De La Hoya, but you have to respect the guy, he isn't afraid of anybody and has the ability to beat 99% of boxers out there at four weight divisions above his starting weight. What I found interesting in the Hopkins fight was that if Oscar had managed to hold on for the full 12 I think he would have got the decision. For me up to 9 he outboxed Hopkins and was probably ahead on the card. Of course none of this matters because he couldn't beat the count but interesting none the less that he outboxed nard.
