does anyone still believe calzaghe really won the hopkins fight or can we officially put that one in the trinidad-delahoya pile.

How can you possibly say this? I simply do not understand the thinking at all. I would say that todays Roy would lose to almost any of Calzaghe's better opponents, down to the likes of Robin Reid. Not sure what I think would happen if he fought Lacy though!

Roy is not ******, other than B-HOP he's probably going to be the smartest fighter Joe has faced plus jones of today, is still faster than Joe and ANY of the fighters he has faced in his entire career. Jones at the age of 40 is i think faster than Mayweather and Zab Judah or any of them smaller guys. Only thing you can even question Roy about is his chin and endurance and I think he REALLY worked on his endurance in the past year. We all know about joe and his KO power so its safe to say the there will be no broken glass, so I wont even tap into that.

How will I be surprised? I KNOW what Joe can do, he's done the same thing for the last 4 or 5 years. I wont be surprised about anything he does in the ring. The dude fights to go all 12 hoping his 100 taps a round wins him a UD. Thats nothing new...

Two fighters past their best?

Well, we might have seen Calzaghe's best fight but he's not declined much, if any....and RJJ is further past his peak than Calzaghe is. In their primes I wouldn't look beyond a RJJ knockout, but this time I have to say UD for Calzaghe.

Then on to Pavlik, then career over hopefully.

Doubtful man. I've seen some clips, dudes in shape and ready to go and all he could have done since the trinidad fight is get better, hence all the confident talking he's doing. Jones is 100% correct idk what everyone is talking about.

Jones may or may not be better then Hopkins, but he is better then Kessler, CERTAINLY better then Lacy, and better then the 500 bums Calzaghe fought before that

A fair few of those "bums" were better than Lacy, oh uneducated one.

As for the quote, I was considering this the other day. Obviously if this was Roy even five years ago it may have been true. Now it isn't.
