The referee should have deducted points earlier for Williams rabbit punches, hitting while holding and head butts.

Paris could have stopped the fight in the 5th round, with Williams losing by TKO, so Danny shouldn't complain.

Danny Williams is one of the dirtiest fighters I've ever seen, the refs in the US would not put up with what he does.

But by the way, both fighters ****** yesterday. McDermott should have stopped Williams when he had the chance in the 5th round.

i dont see how this fight was contraversial.
apart from round 5 mcdermot did **** all but stand there and admire williams power before the points deductions williams had it wide and should still win a close but clear unanimous decision with the deductions.
trust me you should watch this fight without the commentators

exactly. the commentators were creaming themselves hoping mcdermott would win. any guy with an open mind could see this guy was pants, barry mcguigan even had him winning by 5 points.
i was more pissed with williams for not knocking this guy out, but hey thats danny williams for you

Williams should've ko'd Mcdermott... This fight shouldn't of needed to go to the Judges.. But williams wanted to stand around and look for openings, and in the process nearly got knocked the **** out in round 5 (Which I agree was most definitely a 10 - 8 round).

I didn't see any good advice coming out of the williams corner neither, as he was having success going to the body yet his corner didn't even mention it!

Luckily for williams the judges were not smoking the same stuff as mcguigan... but all that talk that williams deserves a shot at a world title is rubbish as this fight clearly shows he's only a domestic level fighter...
