He kept his hands higher but he also did the same against Jimenez in the first round so it's hard to say if he is able to keep his hands high if a fight goes past the first round.
Gamboa, You think he would have learned his lesson.

Yeah they do. I mean I thought he kept his hands up a lot better than his past few fights where his hands were completely down and he relied totally on reflexes. It seems Salas his new trainer is already getting through to him, which is good because a guy like him who's had so much success fighting the hands down way could be hard to convert. This fight was only one round so maybe in his next one it could go longer and we'll see just how much he holds his hands up. If it becomes a good habit for him mixed in with his reflexes and offensive talents it's pretty much game over for everybody else except Linares at the weight.Comment

Dude is definitely something special. Can't wait to see more.Yeah they do. Gamboa just like Roy doesn't need to keep his hands up. We all saw what happened to Roy when he kept his hands up against Tarver in their second fight. He got knocked out right through the guard.
Toney doesn't keep his hands up but he's got a crazy chin on him. Naseem never kept them up but skills there is no comparison to Gamboa, talent power yes but skills no freaking way.Comment

right on and he jumps in like a madman, which he can do against the fighters he fights and his god given abilities but it will bite him in the ass. still impressive display of power just teach this kid some D, patience and work off the jab and he will be world classNice 1st round KO but after being dropped in his last fight he still doesn't keep his hands up. I like Gamboa, like his style and is exciting to watch but if he don't learn to keep his hands up he is gonna be in lots of trouble when he steps up!
A fight I want to see him in down the line would be Linares though, Linares is moving up. With their styles it would be very entertaining business! Yuriorkis better keep them hands up against Linares though boy, I'll tell you that!Comment

I am not a fan of his new hands up style. It looked like it took a huge toll on his mobility. He was much more stationary in this fight.Yeah they do. I mean I thought he kept his hands up a lot better than his past few fights where his hands were completely down and he relied totally on reflexes. It seems Salas his new trainer is already getting through to him, which is good because a guy like him who's had so much success fighting the hands down way could be hard to convert. I kind of noticed that as well. He didn't seem to be moving as much in past fights. I guess he's going through a learning curve where he's trying to keep up his hands more and concentrating on that. Hopefully he can start to keep those hands up with good movement. It might take him a few more fights and more work with Salas for him to master that.Comment
