it all depends on what Hopkins has left in him

if he fights as well as he did against Joe or better, then he should take this with a UD, but if his stamina and offense has decreased yet more since the Calzaghe fight he'll lose, maybe even be KO'd for the first time

i picked Hopkins, just cos i like him much more... but this is a 50-50 fight in my mind

I think Pavlik knocks Hopkins out in this one

im very surprised at how many people that actually think Pavlik KO's hopkins. Pavlik's footwork is pretty basic and he's never fought someone who moves like B-Hop. Taylor, Miranda, Lockett, are all there to be hit. B-Hop will make Pavlik look like an amateur, and you will all be surprised at how Hopkins will be able to gobble up anything that Pavlik hits him with.

...I thought he was ready to go in the Cal fight and he was close to quitting IMO. A Pavlik matchup will be much worse.

If Hopkins works with Mackie again, does it for a longer period perhaps (2 1/2-3 months) he'll be in better shape and it will give him a much better chance.

I think pavlik can win this fight. Hopkins has never been a guy who likes to fight 3 minutes of every round, now that he is older the problem has gotten even worse.
But if hopkins can land some sharp sneaky right hands he could cause pavlik some problems.

How was he in trouble when he didn't take a single punch in the round? Yes, he may have been tired but come on, he wasn't being stopped. He made it through rounds 11-12 without any problem.

I really DON"T KNOW on this one. Logic says Pavlik by murder, but then again.......Hopkins is VERY GOOD at taking apart BASIC boxers like Pavlik.

Look at Hopkins losses: Mitchell (doesn't count), Jones, and ESPECIALLY Taylor and Calzaghe.

Notable Hopkins victories: Trinidad (very basic, one dimensional), De La Hoya, Winky Wright, many others

you can't be serious are you? seriously? joe wasn't even hitting him how is that in trouble. i guess that's how you score rounds. only way calzaghe can possibly win with your scoring system. hmmm hopkins is a complainy pants thats a 10-8 round for calzaghe. hopkins is spoiling calzaghe and making him look bad while landing all the good punches 10-7 round calzaghe. calzaghe is coming forward and missing but hes missing a lot! 20-8 round!
