i dont think this is a good career move - why shoot up to 160, and of all the fights out there, why pick winky? winky isnt a huge ppv draw and he can easily school paul.

i guess pw is having serious weight issues cause hes beggin to get a fight at a higher weight class. If he wins he'll stay there, if he looses by ko he'll leave, if he looses by close decision he'll stay.

This would be a good fight for Paul. Winky doesn't punch that hard. And it's likely that Williams can win on activity. Winky stays in your chest most of the night but Paul should be okay.

Doub it. There is no one for him to fight at welterweight. If Margarito wins I can definitely see a rematch. Because Oscar will not fight Margarito. If Cotto wins he's fighting Oscar. Williams can't wait any longer. The other welters are definitely game opponents. But he can move up and fight a bigger names and gain more noteriety.

1.5 Million was a damn fair offer coming in as a challenger.

Goossen why didn't you take it? Now we are forced to watch a recycled Bhop again. Don't get me wrong, I used to love Bernard, but he really needs to retire.

In a perfect world we'd have Williams vs Cotto/Margarito winner, Pavlik vs Abraham, Calzaghe vs Dawson, Bhop vs Roy and then both of them retiring.

That would be a perfect world, but I am fair and would be willing to settle for less!LOL

Yeah me too. All I know is BHop is a bad opponent for Pavlik, and since he already has a title at WW, jumping up 2 weight classes to fight Wright, who doesn't have a title, is a bad move for Williams.

No way that this fight fits in ESPN's budget. It's HBO, Showtime, or if they are really foolish, PPV.

1.5 is decent but arum kept changing his mind and considering there is around 5.5mil available i'm not surprised he didnt want to take it. bhop and pavlik is a dead-out fight that doesnt really benefit anyone, i would like to see winky fight pavlik or pavlik fight abraham, but arum is trying to get the calzaghe pavlik fight going so he will push for the fight to happen because of how it relates to calzaghe. i understand why winky won't fight for small money at the stage in his career and for all the struggling he did early on, but both williams pavlik and winky pavlik broke down cus of monetary issues..what is arum doing with the negotiations?

i aint fussed bout nothing else i'm desperate for a winky fight...williams should be pushing for the winner of cotto margarito, even if it means taking a tune up fight against a lesser welterweight in the mean time..cus he can't seem 2 get a fight at middle and i really don't wanna see him fight winky..out of all the possibilities that fight looks like its just out of desperation on both sides.
