First of all, a fighters prime has nothing to do with his age, look at Erik Morales, he's 31. A fighters prime varies on the amount of fights he has had and what type of fights he has been in. Barrera was in some great ones. Second of all, Williams lost to Quintana. Granted he won the rematch, but Cotto would've never let that happen, and he didn't. Cotto would wipe the floor with Williams. I just want you to admit this will be a great competitive fight.

u wish Cotto will abuse Margarito-margarito has all the physical advantages: height arm length power stamina and chin.
-if cotto wants to box he will have to overcome margaritos 6 inch reach advantage. margarito can still pop cotto with the jab while staying outside of cottos range if he has to.
-if cotto dares to make it a toe to toe war then he it will be to margaritos advantage. margarito is a better inside fighter than cotto. he can unleash vicious uppercuts on the inside and overhand rights.
-cottos chin is suspect and he has never felt this type of power before. if he gets caught once by a big shot the fight is over. margarito has taken big shots from bigger punchers than cotto (cintron and santos) with no affect. margarito can afford to trade with cotto but he has to watch out for cottos left hook to the body which is the only punch that could hurt margarito.
-if the fight goes into the later rounds cotto will be the one resting while margarito will continue to throw 100+ punches a round. margarito could easily steal those rounds in case the fights goes the distance.
-margarito is the hungriest fighter in the welterweight division. this man has been ducked and dodged for so many years and he has been looking for an opportunity to fight an elite fighter on the biggest stage. this chance has finally come and margarito knows that if he loses this fight he will never get another chance like this. he has to win this fight so you know we will see him at his very best.
i just dont see how cotto can win this fight. the only chance i give him is a lucky body shot. margarito is very underrated and i see him as clearly the better fighter overall. the only advantage cotto has is in boxing ability but i think margaritos reach will negate cottos only advantage. margarito will knock cotto out!!

cotto has not faced better opponents. his opponents about the same level as margaritos its just that he fights faded names like mosley corley and overrated fighters like judah gomez quintana and malignaggi and he gets way more credit than he deserves for those fights. margarito would have a much better resume if he wasnt the most most feared man in the planet. he has been ducked by mayweather wright mosley mayorga spinks baldomir judah etc. educate yourself.
margarito has losses because he was fighting as a teenager. cotto was losing as a teenager to but no one remembers that because he was amateur. margaritos fights were as a pro and he was just a kid fighting grown men. margarito was not even matured yet because he was just a lightweight. when his body grew and he became a man his natural weight became welterweight. also margarito is fighting top fighters in there prime like williams and santos. when you fight the best you cant win every fight.
