I think the win would benefit Pavlic a whole heap more then Hopkins..
A win for Hopkins would just mean his a crafty old veteran who can pull of upsets like this but his not really a massive massive underdog anyway going into this fight.
A win for Pavlic would mean he was cleaning them all out and hot on the heels of Joe Calzaghe..
Plus if he can do a better job then Joe did then its gonna make there fight bigger

Hopkins ends his career on a good win over the undefeated middleweight champion.

and for Pavlik, he gets a win over experienced veteran who is old and past his best and he wouldn't look good winning either.

Its just a bad fight for Pavlik.

Simple, they're building a superfight. Winner of Hopkins-Pavlik vs the winner of Jones Jr-Calzaghe. No matter who wins those fights, you're looking at a superfight when it's all said and done.

            Scenarios:

Hopkins - Jones Jr II - megafight to end both their careers, Hopkins coming off a win over the undisputed MW champ, Jones putting the first L on Calzaghs record
Hopkins - Calzaghe II, a chance for revenge for Hopkins, puts the first L on Zags record and rides into the sunset
Pavlik - Jones Jr - Jones would have beaten Cal and Pavlik would be the #1 hypest boxer in the sport
            Pavlik - Calzaghe - megafight

No matter which way you slice it you have 4 intriguing matchups coming out of this. Not just intriguing, but career defining. I personally would like to see Jones beat Calzaghe, then beat Pavlik, but I'm also a Hopkins fan so I'd like to see Hopkins-Jones II. It's been a great stretch for boxing so far.

Calzaghe wont give Hopkins a rematch, guaranteed.

If Pavlik wins. I hate to say, he won't get a lot. The win would be written off as a win over a past prime fighter as Calzaghes win was by some.

If Kelly wins, we also may be a step closer to Pavlik-Calzaghe.!
                  Pav vs. Cal. Wooooooo!!!!

i don't think it's a lose-lose situation for Pavlik like some have said at all... if he was to win more impressively than Calzaghe did it would force a fight between the two of them and be a good name for his record (and if he was to win any less impressively than Calzaghe, well, it'd be a loss lol)

and if Hopkins wins (which i think he should) it would mean he can either get one more big fight against another old fighter (probably Roy Jones?) or just retire on the back of a great win and secure his legend status either way
