What was Larry Holmes best win?

Larry was around in a fairly week period and could never fight any of the ABC champs as King wouldn’t let him. I watched the Norton Vs Holmes fight yesterday and I think that was probably Holmes best win.

Norton for me, followed by Shavers. The Mercer and Cooney wins were pretty big for him as well.

Norton for sure but i liked the humility he showed when he destroyed Marvis Frazier, you could see him looking at the referee almost imploring him to step in and stop the fight before he got hurt.

norton fight, because it was one of the best fights, and larry was fighting with an injury.

the shavers fights were all good wins.

one of the other best ones was obviously the Cooney fight. there was so much hype, so much at stake, for both guys. turned out to be a memorable event

Cooney and Norton for sure. Rd. 15 of the Norton fight was perhaps the best ever heavyweight round (except perhaps Foreman - Lyle).

After his comeback you have to rank the Mercer-win high as well. A great emotional win.

Boxingprospect: I didn't know Holmes was injured in the Norton fight. Can you please elaborate?

Norton. I believe he fought with a bicep injury or something like that.

Holmes fought with a torn left bicep against Norton.

Was he injured going in or did the injury happen before the fight?

In any case that makes his performance that more commedable.
