he's a defensive specialist. guys like hopkins and winky wright, and floyd mayweather DONT get knocked out, and his fights are so boring, becuz he fights in way that wont ALLow for a ko. u never see guys like that in uncontrollable or unnecessary exchanges. and smartly or not, they probably abandon more of their offense in favor of being defensive.

if hopkins loses, it'll be on points, becuz he's unable to be as "active" as pavlik. no more, no less.

even then, it still wont be clear cut, pavlik will win a disputed decision, or a split one. and yea, he may have more power than calzaghe, but lets no forget, hopkins will come into the fight as the bigger man, and pavlik is nowhere near as fast as calzaghe either. actually hopkins has a greater chance to win this one than he did the calzaghe fight, which i thought was a lock.........

IMO, the punches you don't see coming can hurt you just as much as your typical power shot. difference here is, hopkins will "see" pavlik's shots coming, it just depends on whether or not he'll have enough in the tank to fight the whole fight...........
You make mistakes when you get tired, which makes you more vulnerable to being caught. Difference is Hopkins wont be able to sneak by this time. Late stoppage, 11th or 12th round.

How long have you been watching boxing? Hopkins would never have ripped him to pieces. I'd give a prime b-hop a decision, but that's about it.

Like I said earlier. Arum should keep his ****ing mouth shut when negotiating. This is becoming a circus and some here are eating it right up.

This is like the 6th opponent mentioned. Everyone in here saying Pavlik has to fight this guy or that guy to get their respect.

And I wish people would **** off with Abraham. That fight will happen, way down the line. Trust me if Abraham wanted it now, his camp would be barking for it right now. No damn promoter will touch that fight. It would be a huge money loser. Abraham has no name here and Pavlik does not have much of one.

Do you think either camp will be willing to fight a unification fight for peanuts?

I think its all talk or hype. i think maybe HOP is trying for this so he can attempt to beat an undefeated fighter before he gets out of the game I don't know. Either way this will go all 12 and PAV will win a UD because he will simply just throw more punches that will all be blocked like on the Calzaghe fight. BUT because he was more active, he will win a semi-boring fight. I don't see this going down.....

yea, actually, i just see it as "throwing a monkey wrench into the mix," ala the rjj-calzaghe-pavlik ordeal. paul williams is probably asking for a lil too much, so this is just to show him, that pavlik has "other options."

but, on the other hand, i wouldn't be surprised if this fight WAS acutally made. like calzaghe and JT b4, pavlik is the type of fighter bernard would've destroyed when he was younger, but b/c of his advanced age, and inability to "fight" effectively for the WHOLE fight, he'll probably lose another disputed decision, based on, like you say-punches thrown and blocked.

I think the difference is Cal was around his prime during Hopkins prime. Pavlik is stepping in a different direction with a slick master technician, something he hasn't dealt with thus far. Pavlik isn't fast so he can't overwhelm him with speed, his power is great but Hop has always proved to have a solid chin.

Basically Pavlik is young, inexperienced with a good boxer and they want to see what he can with one of the best ever at middle weight.

I still feel it was a solid win for Cal(though controversial), just a fight that they should have worked out literally a decade earlier.

This is how Arum does business. He low balls you, and if the fight isn't taken, he can say that fighter didn't accept our offer. Arum has done this to many a boxer. There are so many untold tales that need to be told, it is a shame.
