jabs are the easiest punch to do with the least energy needed it.

He won against Lennox Lewis using his jab to the stomach

It more of how to use the shoulder roll rather than the shoulder roll style itself.

shoulder roll is a tool used for defense, but it not something that is going to win you the fight or expose similar to the jab, footwork, cross, head movement...etc

Interesting match-up. Breland I believe was 6'2, for a welterweight he was very tall. The height and reach, along with Breland's ability to use it to his advantage (some don't, for example P. Williams and Corrales) would make him a formidable opponent for Mayweather.

Floyd would have to use all his ring smarts to adapt to the 6 inch height difference. Breland's losses to Starling and Davis showed that it could be done.

        Breland in the amateurs.

The shoulder roll is a defensive maneuver that creates openings for your offense, though. And the guy doesnt seem to understand that Marlon Starling solved that supposedly unsolvable puzzle and he did it to the guy who taught it to May Jr.....Also, people underestimate Breland because he didn't reach the heights predicted for him. They think because Marlon and Davis were able to do it to him that its a gimme for Floyd but understand that they were bigger guys than Floyd and they used their size, their will and their toughness to great advantage against Mark BUT they both endured tremendous punishment before getting the stoppages. That's not the type of fight Floyd would or could use to beat Mark Breland.

There is alway other tool that could work

also sometimes using the same thing many time you become very predictable. So he could use it but not as much as he wants to.

Watch the fight again, Rahman jabbed his butt off and dominated the fight until the later rounds when he got tired, doesnt matter how much energy a punch takes if youre tired youre tired, not just your arms but everything else.

I've watched fights of Breland and never saw anything super special about him other than that he was tall for the weight class and he fought as if he was experienced. He came forward and jabbed alot, he was predictable did the same thing basically over and over and could be timed. Like I said to me the biggest thing about him was his size for the weight class and he had a good jab but you could tell when he was going to throw it, hardly ever did he lead with anything but the jab, maybe he showed more in the amateurs like Ricardo Williams.

Breland was one of the best amateur fighters EVER. His record was 110-1. You can look that up.

yeah I think if he jabbed to the body more and then in the 6th round used the overhead right he could have won similar fashion like he did against Lennox Lewis
