The Greatness of Kostya Tszyu

There was NOTHING great about Zoo.

He was DESTROYED in his prime by Vince Phillips(a crack addict..at the time was living in his car)and punked-out of a rematch.

Great fighters don't accept ass-whippings from crack heads.

Hurtado had him down twice..despite having only 3 weeks to prepare.

Zoo was nothing great.

so because he had one loss in his prime and he got knocked down 2 times by a guy he eventually whooped , he can't be great?

come on now. the guy unified his division. he fought some good names. he was the top man for years in his division.

btw , vince phillips and diobelys hurtado was solid fighters.

they were no tomato cans.

I was talking about Kostya Tszyu with a Floyd Mayweather Jr. fan earlier today and he asked , "Who the hell is Kostya Tszyu?" and "Who the hell did Kostya Tszyu beat?"

It's time the greatness of Kostya Tszyu is appreciated. He is one of the most underrated fighters on this board. That's unfortunate. I will do my best to change that.

Sure he had one fight in which he was KOed, but let's not forget, Lennox Lewis and Joe Louis each had two. Everbody has a bad night sooner or later. The first man to KO Lewis was a crackhead, Oliver McCall.

phillips was a dangerous fighter. it's not like vince was some nobody.

plus kostya had problems training and maintaining his weight back then.

after the loss , he totally changed his training habits and his diet.

look what happened afterwards.

everybody losses at least once. if you haven't fought someone that can beat you......maybe you're not fighting the right kind of opponents.

Look hypocrite..If you don't want people to diminish Zoo's win over Hurtado...Don't diminish Vince's win over Zoo
