Kelly Pavlik v Steve Collins catchweight 164 lbs

Kelly Pavlik v Steve Collins catchweight 164 lbs , 2 tough as **** hardmen both with unbelievable aggresion and a burning desire to fight

Collins has more physical strength i would say and probably a better chin and Collins can be an effective counter puncher albeit very crude on the other hand Pavlik is a bigger puncher has more height and can Box behind a great jab when he has too and he is relentless aswell

its also worth noting that Collins is good at mauling and and leaning on u when he gets close /inside using his physical strength

    who ya got

I'd say Collins because he had one of the best chins I've ever seen while Pavlik was nearly KOed by Taylor.

Yes he was almost KO'd but that was a shot that was behind the ear, almost ANYBODY would get dropped after being hit with a punch like that. That's the only time I've ever seen him hurt, and he recovered Extremely fast from it. He's been dropped a couple of times before but he's got a fast recovery rate.

im going for Collins i think aswell

he did have a good chin but he was on the deck against Eubank & a fella by the name of Craig Cummings i never seen the fight but i saw a clip of the kncokdown on you tube ,some people dont consider Eubank a puncher either i think he hit harder than people realise i guess what im trying to say is Pavliks chin is on a par with Collins IMO allthough Collins may have the a slight edge in that department

i think Collins would outhussle Pavlik TBH ,Collins was a robust MOFO

i agree he also got smacked clean on the chin by Taylor while he was sticking his tongue out and Taylor still could not put him away and he looked absolutely fine by the next round i think a lesser fighter would have been Koed from the right hand Jermian landed when Pavlik was clowning

Steve Collins had a chin made of iron, he would smile as he eats Pavlik's punches.

Definitely Collins, that man was tough, even Nigel Benn couldn't phase him (that fight was on Nuts TV earlier too). I can't see Pavlik getting to him too much, he's chins solid, he just doesn't get broke down so a clear win for Collins I think, bad style match up for Pavlik.

He'd fair much better against Benn or Eubank, but still lose imo. Depends how much better Pavliks boxing gets in the future though.

yeah i watched it Earlier aswell lol

i think Pavliks height may work against him in this fight cause Collins is shorter and physically stronger IMO, Collins would utilise his smaller arms inside and he would lean on Pavlik and make it a real dog fight not that Pavlik is'nt capable of dealing with that i just feel Collins would wear him down and Pavliks height would mean he would catch more punches against the shorter Collins and he would not turn his shots over quicker inside cause of Collins shorter arms as aspose to Kellys longer arms
