Yea, all 5 punches every round lmao.

Roy better watch out for the 1000 punches/slaps Calzaghe will land on him.

It could be done, but Arum and Pavlik have not said it will be made with any weight.

They've dodged the topic at every avenue when its the most logical fight out there. I'm not saying a large factor could be the money, and building it up, maybe it is I don't know, but thats the best scenario and the situation remains the same. Mandatories are being avoided all the time, even Dawson has, the fight can be made.
Kessler also called out Pavlik and his schedule is clear. Why not fight Kessler at SMW since he's going to fight JC there?

Joe has maintained all along that he would probably retire after the Jones fight but he never said for sure. He still might anyway but at the end of the day, he calls the shots.

Lets just hope Pavlik doesnt get KOed by one of Joe's sparring partners or some welterweight between now and then.
              Look ma!! Two *****s.

It was the printed news report which stated unequivocally, that "this will be my Last fight". We actually don't know exactly what he said, and I'm willing to accept the report of those who say that he said " probably".... We all know that you believe only half of what you hear, and even less of what you read.

Except of course what you read--when I'm the one writing it.!!

I was thinking about this today, and I think that you should like Calzaghe more than you do. I know you don't see it the way I do, but I promise you, he is a mother****ing badass and the only guy in recent memory capable of giving even a prime Jones a good fight. I realise you are a huge Roy fan and the two of them are fighting soon, but you clearly appreciate talent when you see it, and I'm telling you, Calzaghe has it in spades.

The thing about Pavlik is that although he is the current golden boy he is really not very far into his career as champ. Larry Merchant said on one of the Pavlik - Taylor cards something like "lets hesitate before we hail Pavlik as the new darling of US boxing, because not that long ago thats what we thought about Jermain Taylor." Pavlik might very well go on to great things, but who is to say he won't get beat by Abraham or Winky. I'm not making any predictions, just saying its possible.

Obviously I think that Pavlik - Calzaghe is a good fight, but not really that much better than the at least immediately unlikely prospects of Calzaghe against Dawson, Tarver or even Abraham. I wouldn't even be that surprised if Calzaghe were to fight Taylor, the conqueror of Hopkins or even UK only matchup against Froch (remember Calzaghe is from the UK). Of course, if Calzaghe has any sense whatsoever he will fight Pavlik, and if he fights on I'm sure that is who it would be against, but I'm just saying there are other guys out there who wouldn't be bad opponents either.
