It's just that if you say (2) different and contradictory things back to back, one of them has to be a lie. And I think that Joe is just as snakey as the rest of the hight dollar fighting whores like Jones, Hopkins, Delahoya , Mayweather & Hatton. I would be the same way and do not fault them for it. The difference is that Joe made excuses for why the fight would not happen instead of the truth.
Well of course. Most people give props to Mayweather for being a smart business man when he does this as it hypes the fight more. A lot don't. Really though, Calzaghe isn't exactly fighting anymore for pure pride and championship legacy. He's past it and looking worse and worse. Why not take the biggest money fights possible? I know I would certainly do exactly that!

Anyway, you can never take a boxers previous words on anything. Fights gain so much hype so quickly after a fighter beats someone well, whether they are ****e or not (the opponent that is).

Calzaghe probably (and I'm completely speculating here) used those 'excuses' because he really didn't think Pavlik was established enough and was not a legend like Jones etc. He probably really did think that Pavlik was too green and not good enough and that people would not give him any credit, just like his previous wins over hyped undefeated champs that everyone was saying he needed to fight. After all the 'hurrah' about it he probably realised that it was a big fight and decided he should think about it. It's how I imagine it went.

Either way, depending on how he looks against Jones, lets hope this does happen. Does anyone else find it hilarious that Pavlik is now getting a lot of credit for taking a fight with ... yes, you guessed it, Hopkins! The man everyone has ragged on Calzaghe for so long for fighting!

            wtf, Lacy, Kessler?!?!.

Kessler is an infinently better fighter than Pavlik, I'm sure someday we will see that fight to prove it.
