if he fights Pav i got to say even as a calz fan...i pick pav....but then again i cant say that cause i think kessler is better than pav and we all saw what happened in that fight...but then again that will be a fight 18 months or 2 years old by the time he fights pav and thats along time when he is 36 already! i hope the fight happens but i wish he wud make up his mind and either retire or fight on!!!!

He'll still be recognised as the Super Middleweight Champion without the WBO belt. He probably just wants to keep it because it will continue the record number of defences if he decides to go down.

Without a title in SMW, he will not be ranked in the division. What part of that do you not understand? He must have some form of a title to not be considered a full time LHW. Trust me, if he did'nt fear losing to Jones, he would give it up. Like I said, its smart like Hatton.

I expected him to do that. Especially if he beats Jones. Calzaghe is very vain fighter and he would not tolerate hearing that he ducked Pavlik after he retires.

First everyone wants him to fight Jones, then when he signs up for it, everyone says he's a 'coward' and 'ducking' Pavlik. Now, after the Jones fight he may consider going back down to SMW to fight Pavlik and everyone is suddenly bitching about it and saying he's a moron and to 'make up his mind'?

I thought this is what everyone wanted to see? What the hell is wrong with everyone here? Isn't this great news, if it happens? I thought all the 'haterz' would be over the moon. of course it's a great thing! if it happens! joe has been going back and forth about not fighting jones in his book to fighting him. fighting pavlik, and not, and than fighting! till it happens this is just 1 article, and thats why no one is getting overly excited yet. i hope it happens for sure, but till it's concrete, i am not holding my breath.

Calzaghe will never fight Froch and I don't blame him, even if he wins (which he would) he would take a lot of massive punches against someone who isn't recognised as a great fighter.

Froch is a bad style match up for Joe.
