Jermain Taylor-Carl Froch: Purse Bid Deadline Extended

Taylor wont fight Froch. He will end up fighting Lacy and Pascal will get the fight against Froch.

Froch deserves his shot, but it's not Taylor's responsibility to give it to him. He doesn't have the luxury of taking a risky fight right now considering he lost his last two. I question the intelligence of anyone criticizing the man for looking after his career at this point, where he is in an unusually fortunate position of coming off two losses and still being able to headline on HBO and command big money for a fight. If he loses in his next fight, to a virtually unrecognized fighter, he can kiss his career goodbye.

Froch and his fans can talk a big game but the guy hasn't fought anyone and doesn't have anything to lose. Taylor is one of the few champions recently who stepped up again and again to take on the best in his division. If he doesn't take the Froch fight immediately, who can blame him. He's got his next ten fights to think about, not just his next fight.

I'd like to see Jermain get anotha belt. He regained a lotta lost respect in the Pavlik fights even tho he lost both of em. Lacy offers money, but even at that he can't be too big a draw right now after how stale he's looked since Joe C.

Thanks... I have been around, just not posting much these days! He will be back. Just probably against some bum... I am hoping he gets another decent fight soon, but he may once again have to earn it and wait another year. Too bad. I will always be a fan, but I have 'adjusted' my expectations!

I hope Miranda gets back knocking out 2 or 3 fighters and then gets a shot at Mikkel Kessler. It's still a fight I'd like to see.

On topic I agree with you. A Taylor - Froch fight is not likely ATM.
