Pavlik vs Kessler. Who Would Win?

IMO after guys like Hopkins, Calzaghe and Jones retire these two guys are going to be the stand-out fighters between 160/168/175.

I dont doubt for a second they are on course to meet in the next 2 or 3 years and im wondering who everyone likes when they fight.

With Pavlik we have a fighter who loves to mix it up with underated skills. His jab is very good and his right hand has a lot of power behind it. Pavlik likes to throw a lot of punches and has excellant stamina. There is somewhat of a question mark over his chin though. Ive seen him fight 7 or 8 times and he's been down in 4 of those fights and in two of those he's been hurt pretty bad.

With Kessler we have a fighter with no real weakness except mobility maybe (i think he's pretty mobile but ive heard people in the past claim otherwise, fair enough) Kessler has an excellant jab and his straight right hand is a thing of beuty, his right upercut is pretty devastating too (god knows how Calzaghe took that bomb in the 4th). Its been said in the past that Kessler has never tasted the canvas in his AM or pro career so its safe to say he has a pretty solid chin. Would it hold it to Pavliks power though (would Pavliks hold up to Kesslers?)

I really like this fight! I think Kessler would edge it though but i don't think he'd stop Pavlik. I'd say Kess would win by UD or SD. I really like both fighters but I think I'd route for Pavlik. The more I think about this fight, the more trouble I have making up my mind as to who would win.

For the millionth time Pavlik in a very close tough SD/MD. Both are a little two one dimensional IMO but I think Pavlik just has enough to take it at the moment.

After thinking about im going with Kessler by stoppage. He hits a lot harder than the guys who have hurt Pavlik in the past. I see Kessler blasting a right hand straight down his pipe which floors him but he gets up but gets stopped soon afterwards.

Pavlik by KO in 6. I like kessler but after watching him get slapped around by Calzahge my interest dropped a little. Pavlik is a hard hitter, I cant wait to see him knock out P.Williams and would love to see him fight Calzahge but doubt that will happen. I give Kessler a small punchers chance

I have to disagree. I don't think Kessler punches harder than Taylor or Miranda but i have to admit that he is a better out side boxer with better technique. He showed in Calzaghe fight that he could be backed up. Where he would run into evem more problems with Pavlik is the fact that Pavlik is a harder puncher than Calzaghe, is more accurate and never takes a step back. Therefore, I see Kessler being backed and punished severly. He wins the fight in the center of the ring, but he has a chance at being knocked out if he allows Pavlik to out muscle him like that, which i think would happen. Pavlik by late TKO or corner retirement.

Miranda never had Pavlik down. And Kessler punches MUCH harder than Taylor does. Whens the last time Taylor knocked anyone out?

Kessler is pretty damn concussive, he's a beast of a puncher.

Id say Miranda has a bit more raw power but if you take into account the speed and accuracy of Kesslers right hand then its probably just as devastating. I wont argue with anyone who thinks Miranda hits a lil harder.
