I wonder if they pressure him to fight like his dad because I think that's all wrong for him. He doesnt have the same body type.

I can see they're point. Whitaker wasn't as engaging like Vanda but he did beat Chavez Sr. Perhaps it was Sr's performance to keep winging at the elusive Whitaker that made them cheer? So when an in your face guy like Vanda isn't KO'd by Jr, the fans let Jr know that he has not met their expectations.

Also the scoring was pretty wild, too.

The audience for the Senior were Mexican-Americans, ::

The audience for Junior were real Mexicans.

The criticism is a little harsh on Chavez Jr., obviously he isn't his father but he's not a bad fighter. I think the weight issues might be catching up to him and it's time to move to 160. He's decent, if not entirely imaginative, and he can be a very good fighter.

What opens him up to criticism is this nonsense of selling PPVs behind him, knowing full well that the opposition isn't marquee level. His development stage should be free, and then when he proves himself worth the bucks, go for the PPV.

Chavez jr has talent. He was just not in shape to go all 10 rounds. He looked good early

Chavez Jr looked like **** against a B-level opponent. He's not for real after all.

i agree with erik...i mean, i had jr winning the at least 6 clear rounds easy... and he was never hurt, just very winded.....the jr chavez's tend to not punch for long periods of times, and when the crwod doesnt know about boxing and they see an spirited challenger throwing a lot, they think he's winning....they dont care if you already won a ****load of rounds....

and 99% of mexican fans are just there for the beer and to be on tv....so...

jr put on a very good level of consistency, unprecented for him, in the early part of the fight....but it cost him with the **** conditioning he has because of the weight issue...
