He looks sloppy when his opponents give him angles and feints because he's scared to get hit, once they start doing that to him he gets a little confused and panics a little.

He can be a very efficient offensive machine but he needs to get over his fear of getting hit, he was brilliant to watch offensively when he was younger even after the Purrity and Sanders losses, I think the Brewster fight really robbed him of a lot of confidence.

And I agree with the OP, Wlad is not a natural fighter, he's a very good athlete but he was made a fighter.

We need to see how Haye's speed has carried up with him first, he said he's already 233 pounds, which is too heavy IMO but we'll find out for sure in November.

      That's true.

When Pavlik throws his right hand, he brings it back (like a sling shot) in a way that his fist ends up right next to his head.

Great post. I agree, 233 sounds like too much for Haye. I was thinking he'd fight around 218-220.

His fundamental weakness is he is worried about being knocked out I guess.

            Yup, that's definitely a problem.

His weakness is simply a lack of punch variety... he is becoming extremely predictable..

However starting with the Brewster rematch.. he has been using the uppercut with a little more frequency.. and in the Thompson fight..he finally threw body shots..
With his power, if he went to the body more often.. he would score body KO's
and open up upstairs to score head shots and end fights earlier..

he is a master of hitting and not getting hit.. and for some reason this really bothers a lot of people

I agree with the first part of your post...... but what I bolded? I don't think we're talking about the same person.

Wlad is a master at getting his punches of then holding his oponent or trying to fiddle his way through a Boxing match without getting chin checked

i agree with you bro! riz, good post as well. wlad has the tools for sure(great power, jab, athleticism), but not the chin or natural gift for the sport. not a born boxer imo. he gets tired due to his over tension, and worry of getting hit, is a bit clumsy at times as well. in another era he would not be a strap holder. he could do much better, he has more than enough skill, but he needs to let go. or maybe he is what he is, and as silencers said a made boxer, and this is him! imho

well considering Thompson is the only the 3rd man to ever win a round against wlad without knocking him down.. I am going to stick by my original statement..
