Agreed. Especially on all the BS belts. Being a Champ doesn't solidify you as a great boxer any more.

seriously...almost ANYONE can win a title...

seriously...if you cant get a WBO, WBA, WBC, IBF, RING belt in one division...just move up or go down one division and there you go...an easier opponent and your a winner...

OR if you STILL cant win a belt...lets not forget the NABF and all the other ABC belts...

we should have ONE champion PER division seriously...then the title fights would actually be important again...because many of my friends/family/etc. who will every now and then watch the sport (for my friends and such that dont) see someone like cintron with a title and say, "wow he's a champion he must be good"...well sure he's good but they get this idea he's the BEST at 147 because he has a title...when really he's just ONE OF the better fighters in the division.

      it misleads casual fans...

there should be 1 champ per division and less divisions...i mean seriously...7lbs isnt THAT much considering these guys blow up over 10lbs the night before the fight...they should be grouped into ONE division...evens the playing field and the TRULY BEST will shine and get due credit.

First off we need to get rid of all these meaningless belts and set up one, impartial governing body that oversees everything to do with world boxing. Much like FIFA with World Soccer. We can split this world governing body into regions around the globe, so that fighters can also fight for regional titles. We then restrict each division to one world champion and as Left Hook suggests simplify the divisions.

No, I was responding to the weight class edit.

            I don't agree. lol

For my formentioned weight disparity. I think the current boxing Weight Class system is perfectly fine, and needs no adjusting.

just stretch the weight limit out so all the super and jrs can make weight...

and less titles would be great too...

in my opinion jr and super's should be fixed in with the original weight class...

for example: jr middleweight...middleweight...and super middleweight should all be considered middle weight and the weight class min. should be 154 and the max should be 168...

and each division should have ONE lineal title...

make it fair...no need for 4 titles in 17 classes...everyone can be a "champion"...
thats 14 pounds u idiot, u could get someone who weighs 155, fighting a guy that strains down to 168, puts on 12 pounds in between weigh in and fight night, other guys comes in at around 160.....thats a 20 pound difference, only guys as skilled as floyd can pull off a win giving away that amount of weight....do you want to see a gatti-gamache every 2 months you idiot you obviously have never got into the ring yourself because giving away that weight makes a huge difference unless you are superbly skilled
