Not many people know this, but before Baldomir beat Zab, he was rated at 10 by The Ring at welterweight. He proved himself by beating Zab and an old gatti (2 things: how do you dertimne a prime gatti? Gatti was also the favorite for that fight).

Also he managaed to win some rounds against Clottey. People don't mention Baldomir as one his top 5 wins, but everyone mentions Floyd's welter resume so much, so he deserves to be brought up because he's a good fighter.

He's a good fighter and has a good resume.
It's fair to say that Gatti was shot. 15 years, countless beatings and several wars into his career. Clottey was on his way to a decision win before he lost control of his dome. The Judah win? Whatever you wanna say...good win I guess but we all know that Judah is a front runner, just like Clottey.

Baldomir doesn't possess any particularly good traits (boxing-wise) outside of being very durable.

I never said he wasn't. Just when the hell do you determine a prime gatti?

Judah was more then a front runner. He's beat top people at 140 (minus...well you know) and became the undisputed champion at 147 by beating Spinks. Clottey is more of a Demarcus Corley, but a better fighter.

Clottey definietly deserves a title shot and he's good (which is the only win other then Cintron I really give Margarito credit for).

I have never seen anyone claim Baldomir was one of Mayweather's greatest wins, but it was a good and dominating preformance against the welterweight champion who had defeated two legitimate fighters in his last 2 fights.

nobody ever at any point said baldomir was great.

just one of the better underdog stories of the last decade.

the only significance was that he was undisputed welterweight champ- and floyd took the trinkets off of him (instead of the 8 million dollar margarito offer that we'll apparently never hear the end of)

Judah sure didn't look like a frontrunner in the rematch with Spinks...

It's pretty revisionist to act like everyone knew that Baldomir ****** ass and his resume was **** because of the knowledge we have in 2008.
