Klitschko Is Still Just the Best Heavyweight Titlist

I said in the article - beginning with the title - that Wlad is the best heavyweight. But there's still work to be done before he warrants the label of undisputed or linear heavyweight champion. And I thought I did a solid job in providing relevant examples of why he shouldn't receive the label by default.Anyone who doesnt view Wlad as the best Heavyweight out there is an idiot. His belts are the only ones that matter. Take Don King or whoever out of the equasion and Wlad can take all the little abc belts away from nobodies then everyone can agree he is undisuted Heavyweight Champ of the world. But everyone has to ***** about everything so Wlad will get no credit for "unifying" the division.
Not sure what Don King has to do with today's heavyweight equation - he has a piece of Sam Peter, but that's his last remaining link. And last I checked, Peter's forced to fight someone else other than Wlad - oh that's right, big brother Vitali. But that's Don King's fault, right?
I don't disagree - though it's also worth mentioning that even the very best boxing writers are lucky to clear .01% per article of what Wlad makes per fight.Comment

Maybe right now, but King controlled Ruiz, Rock, 7 foot tall guy (I think anyways) and other guys besides Peter, and he wouldnt let those guys fight anyone he didnt control. No Don King=undisputed champ a long time ago.I said in the article - beginning with the title - that Wlad is the best heavyweight. Controlled, as in past tense. King doesn't outright control a damn thing anymore, not in any division.
Besides, Wlad fought Peter in late 2005; he got his title shot in his next fight (April 2006). By year's end, all of King's titlists lost their belts, two of whom (Byrd and Rahman) left him prior to losing their titles.
At that point, the only fighter he had a piece of was Valuev, who would lose his title early into 2007 anyway.
So, Wlad's had nearly two years to make bigger fights happen without fear of King sinking his claws into him. Right now, the only one standing in his way isn't King, but Wlad's own brother. Not sure why this is so difficult for people to accept - Wlad even acknowledged it after the Sultan fight.Comment
