agree. i should only add that thompson is a boxer who doesn't even know how and when to throw his left hand. thompson and his handlers should learn that boxing involves the using of both hands.

he is a shame to his monicker.

is he a tiger? and wlad the poacher?

This was an interesting read and very pertinent indeed, Wlad is simply the best of a very bad bunch at present, HW boxing needs a David Haye or someone similar to breath some life into a very stagnant division.

heavyweights not scared to take a punch or heavyweights that don't believe in clinching would help...... i don't care who or what race or nationality.

i know not getting hit is part of the game but to see 250 lb. men act towards a punch like my sister when you throw a baseball towards her is just disgusting.

the point of boxing is to hurt your opponent as much as you can to win rounds and/or the fight NOT to win the fight doing the least to not get hit. big difference.

The way Wlad fought on Saturday went a long way to convincing me that if Haye boxes smart he will smash Wlad, all that "measuring" with the left jab for the straight right hand .... am i the only one who sees that tactic as so bloody easy to read?
Wlad throws 3 or 4 punches maximum then lunges in to hold, Haye is a MUCH quicker fighter than Thompson and when Wlad lunges for the clinch he runs the very real risk of taking bombs before he gets to the clinch.
I understand that there is the question of whether Haye's chin will stand up to Wlads right hand but on saturdays showing Wlad needs to be MUCH better.

I think this is pretty simple; has Klitschko shown a good offensive arsenal? Undoubtedly. Has Wladimir used it to dish out some stunning knock-outs? Absolutely. Did he finish men who were ripe for the taking in Ibragimov and Thompson? No. He didn't do what he's shown he can...the knock out with Thompson was barely a knock out. If Klitschko wants to be the man at heavyweight he has to give his all. I don't think he is. I'm not the type to yell if a fighter doesn't knock his opponent out every fight...but....Wladimir plainly only wants to do the bare minimum to win recently. It's going to come back to bite him. You don't leave a heavyweight who can change a fight in one punch in front of you when you have a bad chin. Emmanuel Steward has been trying to get Klitschko to, after the early steady breaking down of his opponent, to turn up the heat and get his guy out of there. He doesn't. That is going to have go change or I strongly feel he's going to get knocked out again.

i think there's so much pressure on wlad not to lose that's why.

that's not good for a boxer.

a boxer needs to have confidence.

wlad has all the talent in the world. he needs to tell himself i'm the best no one can beat me.

when he was young he didn't fight like this. the sanders and brewster losses really changed him. (along with emmanuel steward)

Yeah, there is pressure on him not to lose but- and I have the utmost respect for boxers- he's an elite world class athlete in one of the most grueling sports known to man. He's pulling in millions, has throngs of fans, is huge in Germany and Europe...and honestly, that all comes with the game. It's just part of it. If he can't handle being on top he's too weak mentally to be champion and it's going to show in him falling apart in the ring. Look at Floyd Mayweather. People hate him because of his 'bad guy' shtick and are just waiting for him to lose- in fact some pray for it every night before bed. No one has more pressure not to lose than that man, yet he kept his **** together. The heavyweight champion of the world can't be expected to do any less.

I've said it before. The heavyweight scene would be hugely improved (and probably decimated at this point) by a Frazier style swarmer.

Anyone who doesnt view Wlad as the best Heavyweight out there is an idiot. His belts are the only ones that matter. Take Don King or whoever out of the equasion and Wlad can take all the little abc belts away from nobodies then everyone can agree he is undisuted Heavyweight Champ of the world. But everyone has to ***** about everything so Wlad will get no credit for "unifying" the division.
