Jake LaMotta vs Roberto Duran at 160lbs

Both were very aggressive come-forward fighters. Both could be said to have durable chins. Whatever they lack in the boxing departemnt they make up for it with heart. They both gave the 'Sugar Rays' of their era their first loss. To me even though 160 wasn't Durans best weight it could still be very interesting, I mean Duran was ahead on the scorecards after the 12th in his fight with Marvin Hagler. So it can be said Duran could hang in there with the best middleweights of all time. Who do you got?

jake is one tough sob but roberto beats him up.

jake is not much bigger than duran. different era. i don't think jake was cutting weight to make 160.

iran barkley would be a light heavyweight in jake's era.

LaMotta wasn't much taller. His frame was much bigger and he was able to carry the weight much better than Duran. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Jake gets a decision. LaMotta was a much better boxer than he's given credit for.

he might be thicker but seeing how duran did against much bigger fighters , i had to go for duran. i'm a big duran guy. duran's boxing skills is underrated as well.

LaMotta starved himself to make the weight.
In his own words he was a super middleweight, not big enough for light heavyweight but had a very hard time making the middleweight limit.

Sugar Ray Robinson's strategy in their last fight was to take LaMotta to the later rounds because he knew how hard it had been for LaMotta to make the weight.

LaMotta as a light heavyweight at the end of his career.

          LaMotta knocks out Dauthuille.

jake had to starve himself to make weight?

he didn't look that big. he's only 5'8. how hard is it to stay at 160 at 5'8?

plus when he didn't fight 160 fights he was only a few lbs. over.
