Oh snap...Trinidad -VS- De La Hoya in DEC??

I just checked out Boxrec, and both Felix Trinidad and Oscar De La Hoya have thier next bought set for December 12th 2008, Oscar's final fight as a Pro. Though it has not been finalized, It'd probably be at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Oscar's back yard. Since Tito can't get down to 154, how is this going to play out?

160 would be the ideal target of catch weight. Since you can't really rely on Boxrec cause it "ALWAYS" subject to change, I think De La hoya makes his final bow-out as a "Winner". But should Tito put on some serious pressure on De La Hoya, and get the nod once again....I can see Trinidad chasing a bout of either John Duddy, and I wouldn't be the least surprised If they Don King wants Trinidad -vs- Paul Williams @ 160!!!

          Random Thoughts..

          1. I wouldn't put any stock into what boxrec says. They have been wrong various times.

          2. I doubt Trinidad can make weight. He had significant trouble making 170 vs RJJ. I am sure he would have to go on a week long fast to make 160. Hell, I looked in better shape than Tito in his last fight.

          3. Economics. We all know that it would take an act of god for them to figure out where the dollars get divided. Tito still think he deserves the top billing and top dollar.

          4. You got to believe that Arum/Cotto would place a very good offer in order to screw Don King/Tito for the event of the year. They have worked out before GBP/Top Rank... example the Cotto/Mosley fight.

            Newsflash!!!!!!!

Tito and his father already turned the fight down saying that Oscar is just using them for publicity for his fight against Miguel Cotto.

In other words Tito was just a backup plan in case Cotto were to lose Vs Margarito.

You boxrec nerds need to keep up.

I disagree J. Tito has the punch, but his foot speed is stuck in nuetral. I like DLH to give him another boxing lesson IF it actually happens.
