I said it long before the fight that Thompson is gonna give Wlad problems with his style and size. He did and whats more important he put up much more of a fight then many other fighters who faced Wlad. He was able to neutralize Wlad's jab in the first half of the fight and looked very competative, certainly more competative then Byrd, Brewster, Austin, Brock, Ibragimov and many others.
People just have to have some respect for fighters here.
It becomes easier when I say something positive about your favorite fighter, doesn't it?

He had quit around the 9th round and was looking for a way out

Everybody I watched it with (admittedly not boxing fans) thought he took a dive. I said it was probably half legit. Good punch, but he had taken them all night with no signs at all they were affecting him. He even braced himself before landing, which kind of gave it away.

Both guys had to fight through cuts early in the fight, both guys were over 240 pounds hitting each other in the body and head and Thompson had a knee injury early in the fight.

Why do you seem hell-bent on trying to discredit both guys performances?

Are you by any chance a David Haye fan?

I am pulling for Valuev to win out for a while because I would love to see him and Wlad go at it.

I do like to watch David Haye fights, but that remark is both irrelevant and insulting.

Thompson did better than expected, what more can you ask for?

I can ask for him not to trudge forward with no head movement getting repeatedly hit in the face for starters.

Wlad needs to man up and fight the man who retired his brother.
