Link to the whole fight, round by round

From that angle you can see that Thompson was out of it before he even hit the ground.

He's got great legs and balance. He was knocked out clean and didn't even sway, just fell after a second.

I think, having seen the alt. angle, I might have to eat some pie marked "humble" a little here, kids.

I still think he was looking for a way out though... he had so little heart it was like watching the career highlights of Gary Lockett.

He had so little heart that he went 11 rounds for the heavyweight title against the best heavyweight in the world and landed more punches than any previous fighter had on him?

He also appeared to hurt his knee in the second round when he fell down and got up very slowly, then went 9 more rounds because he had little heart?

I am astonished at how hateful people can be towards professional fighters. Whether you like or dislike a fighters, there should be some sort of respect for guys who earn their right to challenge for titles fair and square and give honest efforts.

The punch landed flush but I think Thompson could've gotten up if he had really wanted to (he did at the count of 10). No need to risk it though because he was not going to win the fight.

He landed more than anyone else cos Wlad was **** last night.

From the sixth/seventh he had a look on his face that said "**** it, I ain't gonna win this."

dude thompson is a professional sparring partner, with a sparring partner mentality. from the 5th or 6th round on, he was just going through the motions. he totally gave up and holding the back of his head to insinuate a rabbit punch was ridiculous, but the dude must have seen the soto-lorenzo fight and thought he could coax cortez into a dq, hahaha....

This is probably the first time I agreed with you in a while.
I said it long before the fight that Thompson is gonna give Wlad problems with his style and size. He did and whats more important he put up much more of a fight then many other fighters who faced Wlad. He was able to neutralize Wlad's jab in the first half of the fight and looked very competative, certainly more competative then Byrd, Brewster, Austin, Brock, Ibragimov and many others.
People just have to have some respect for fighters here.

Even before the KO, it looked like Thompson didn't want to continue.

Anyways, the KO was legit but wasn't brutal as some suggested.

A guy can be "****" on a certain night, but it's still up to the challenger to go out there and try to win the fight, which he did. You seem like you just aren't going to give either man any credit, possibly because you have some agenda that you're trying to push.

Both guys had to fight through cuts early in the fight, both guys were over 240 pounds hitting each other in the body and head and Thompson had a knee injury early in the fight.

Why do you seem hell-bent on trying to discredit both guys performances?

Are you by any chance a David Haye fan?
