Wladimir's Klitschko Stock.....

As someone who's followed Wlad for a very long time, this is quite a hard question. Overall Wlad did a good job I think, Thompson is a big, tough genuine heavyweight who would have a very good chance against any of the other Title holder. Wlad was never in any danger of losing the fight, he was never hurt, had a huge points lead and eventually got the big KO.
HOWEVER, I feel that Emmanuel Steward is making Wlad into a WORSE fighter! I understand that Wlad took a hammering against Sanders therefore some adjustments were needed, but all this clinching and holding that Steward is making him do is counter-productive. Pre-Sanders Wlad would have had Thompson out in less than 6 rounds because he would have kept pressure on and tried to keep landing hard shots instead of tying up all the time. Wlads patience is great for winning fight by easy decision or late TKO in boring fashion, but it's not exciting anymore. We need a heavyweight destroyer, somone who can detonate. Wlad USED to be that guy but Steward is no good for Wlad in my opinion.
So to summarise this performance was a + from his last performance, but a - from his potential and Pre-Sanders performances. I think Vitali should train Wlad and teach him how to go for the kill...Comment

His stock went up. At first the fight was VERY uncomfortable but he managed to find a way and ended up knocking a VERY durable fighter who knew how he was coming in with their sparring experience. I don't understand why some have to hate so much on Wlad, he's done a very good job and well, he kos people. Isn't that what some people want to see??Comment

He won, he got the KO, his stock raises ever so slightly.
It's not the most exciting thing in the world but he gets the job done. Viewers wouldn't turn into boxing fans after watching Wlad in a fight like that, but hell, he's still the champion.Comment

Ofcourse it did, it showed that he can beat a guy without relying on his jab as much. A lefty that can outjab him and then go to the right to land the left. He also did not panic when he was hit and showed decent reflexes
In comparison it would be like seeing Leonard beating an opponent who is faster then him and very awkward for his style.
As I said before, Thompson would not be a guy that will go down easily, he had all the potential to make it tough for Wlad and when I saw that he had a better reach then Wlad nad looked even taller in the ring, I became even more confident that this time it will be Wlad who will have to adopt and not his opponent, which is a usual case.
He did it, it was not the prettiest thing at times but he confidently beat him and knocked out a guy who was never on the floor in his career.
Next two fights will be a good deal easier for Wlad, with Povetkin and Haye being Wlad's "clients"Comment

I don't even know how to explain all this hate.
So I come home watch the fight, what do I see? Two big guys actually ****ing trading some punches for once. I see Wlad taking some shots and not getting his panties in a bunch, I see Thompson take some big rights and never dropping...I see two men actually fight with one eventualy doing a good acting job of giving up.
Now WTF did you guys want?
When Wlad knocked out Ray Austin in the 2nd people hate. Dominates Brewster people still hate. He fights a **** in Ibragimov people hate (so do I though).
How many heavyweight eras have you fellas lived through? Because to be honest I dont know wtf you all are looking for. You want Mike Tyson knocking out ****ing tomato cans in 2rds? Or do you want Ali vs Foreman every night?
Have you guys even seen more then 10 Ali fights?
My recomendation, you hate the man so much, stop watching him. Stop commenting on him, yea we all know its a week division bla bla blah...
The division is going to stay like this for the next 50 years. It will be big man with Wlads style who will win fights, because it wins fights.Comment
