Margs already lost to the bigger Santos. I don't think he would want any part of Kelly. Cotto's body just isn't ready to carry that kind of weight and still be effective in my opinion. He would be slower and less agile. At his height I think he would get killed.
While I doen't consider williams the best welter right now, he certainly has the best shot of pulling off a move to middleweight.

I don't think Cotto's body could go up to 160. His body just seems to have his limitations of being effective. He more short and stocky. I don't know how that his body will take 160. Marg he has the potential to go up to 160. I could see his frame being more muscular up there.

i think williams will hold the xtra weight fine! not sure about getting much if any better power, but his frame is very much like pavliks, and can easily go up for the weight.

I think a better question is why did some people criticise Manny for moving up and Pavlik for wanting to move up to challenge Calzaghe, but not Williams? Is that not hypocrisy at its best?

I agree about Cotto. Maybe Im jumping the gun about Margs. Maybe he could be competitive. I have no doubt his body could handle the weight. I just keep flashing back to the Santos and Williams losses against naturally bigger guys and have doubts as to how Tony wouldb do against top 160 fighters let alone Pav.

The boxing circles are buzzing over the potential fight between WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik (34-0, 30KOs) and WBO welterweight champion Paul Williams (34-1, 25KOs).
