Me a williams far LOL far from it WAY far from it, I just think Williams have NOTHING to lose in fighting pavlik, If he loses then thats what he was suppose to do and if he wins then its a big win for him.

There's a certain kind of fighter that can move up in weight, give up his advantages and still be successful. They tend to be extremely skilful, very accomplished boxers, have a long amateur career. All things that Williams is not. He can throw out five million punches if he wants but when one punch from your opponent carries the weight of a whole rounds worth from yourself you're not getting anywhere. Williams as the much bigger man can be successful by taking the centre of the ring and throwing his long range flurries. Williams as the smaller man simply can't box and move.

The boxing circles are buzzing over the potential fight between WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik (34-0, 30KOs) and WBO welterweight champion Paul Williams (34-1, 25KOs). According to Top Rank's Bob Arum, a deal was reached with Dan Goossen [Williams' promoter] to stage the fight on September 27 at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Like i said look at the Mayweather/Hatton fight has an example on how fight fans take credit away from fighters especially when theyre fighting someone who moved up.

In my opinion Hatton had been over rated before fighting Floyd. I think that maked it easy for some fans to take credit away. Williams hasn't recieved the same hype as Ricky or been the best guy in his division (yet), so if he does lose I don't think he'll be slammed as much as Hatton was. JMO.

Williams did a great job with movement against Margarito. So I don't see how he has no movement and can't box.

I think he will lose. But he will always have a fan in me. You can say money fight all you want but what's the most he'll get? Probably not too much. I mean he's not that big of a star.

Who are the people critsing Williams? or why would anyone critise him?

I think a better question is why did some people criticise Manny for moving up and Pavlik for wanting to move up to challenge Calzaghe, but not Williams? Is that not hypocrisy at its best?

Yes i agree Hatton was way overrated but we still had fans who were calling for Mayweather to fight him and when he did they try to play the weight card, Am also not suggesting that Williams would be slammed but stating that if Pavlik beats Williams there would be guy who would come out and take credit away from Pavlik by saying Williams isnt a really Middleweight anyway.

I still cant imagine either Cotto or Margarito actually thinking about doing this, I mean this is really big of Williams to do. Am trying to imagine either cotto or Margarito actually going up and trying to fight Pavlik.

Margs already lost to the bigger Santos. I don't think he would want any part of Kelly. Cotto's body just isn't ready to carry that kind of weight and still be effective in my opinion. He would be slower and less agile. At his height I think he would get killed.
While I doen't consider williams the best welter right now, he certainly has the best shot of pulling off a move to middleweight.

I just thought that Williams' Camp really made him a meat to be devoured by a Lion in Pavlik! It's so absolutely crazy!
