If you're a professional you should be able to spar with anyone regardless of size. Its not uncommon for lightweights to spar middleweights and that kind of thing.

If you're a professional you should be able to spar with anyone regardless of size. Its not uncommon for lightweights to spar middleweights and that kind of thing.

I like some of his fights but I don't like how they've been handpicking his opponents. Look at Victor Burgos, the guy was a champion at a lighter weight, old and shopworn and he damn near killed him. Thats not boxing, thats padding your record and collecting site fees.

Until he rematches Nonito Donaire or fights one of the top guys (not Kirilov, he's a paper champion), I can't take him as a serious champion. Maybe a fight with Mijares or Montiel, though I doubt that'll happen.

I know Nonito Donaire frequently spars with larger men, I wouldn't be surprised if some welterweights were thrown in there. I've seen Nate Campbell spar super middleweights and beat them up. I've seen a lot of guys spar much bigger, though relatively inexperienced, fighters before and give them the business. It happens a lot.
