While promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank is close to finalizing a deal to match WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik against WBO welterweight champ Paul Williams on September 27, he says that HBO should have forced Joe Calzaghe to fight Pavlik instead of allowing him to fight Roy Jones Jr. on pay-per-view. **** Arum. I give Jones a better shot against Joe, than Williams against Pavlik. Williams vs Pavlik is a MUCH Bigger mismatch. Funny how a guy who is titled as "taking on all commers", is fighting a welterweight AFTER a "tune up" against that bum locket. Taylor was fighting the much better opposition during his reign. I don't blame Pavlik for this, I blame Arum.

IMO Jones has a better chance at beating joe than pavlik has. The fight most likely is going the distance in both fight, the difference is Jones is the much better boxer. And with Joes lack of power, Jones chin is not going to be that much of an issue.

It's funny when people like you say Lacy is "overrated" but you hype Miranda who I think is one of the most overrated fighters in boxing. You blow up Pavliks win over Jermaine Taylor like he beat Monzon or Hagler. BTW, Hopkins was old when Taylor beat him too. I don't see you pointing that out though. Hmmmmm

Pav easily destroyed him so yeah, he may very well have been overrated. JT however, was not overrated. What is the criteria for entering the H.O.F? Holding onto a paper belt for over a decade, beating mostly stiffs in the U.K and rounding out your career on legimate Hall of Famers who should be retired? He beat a prime Kessler and a prime Lacy right? Stop bringing up Eubanks, that guy was in practically the same position as Hopkins and Jones, his career was at its end when Calzaghe beat him. And Kessler has yet to beat an elite level fighter so to me he remains unproven.
