The best bets in Jones own era would have been any of the British trio of Eubank, Benn and Calzaghe. That's not the same thing as saying they would beat him, but any one of them would have been Jones' toughest opponent, given that Hopkins was green and Toney underperformed horribly.

As an example, a young Joe Calzaghe would definitely have performed better than Hopkins did against Jones, and Nigel Benn or Eubank would have done better than Toney.

In his autobiography, Chris Eubank states he didn't want to fight Roy because he would lose. Pick it up.

Nigel Benn admits the only reason why he requested $10 million to fight Roy was because he didn't really want to. Although to his credit he says he was just tired of boxing after McClellan.

I find it interesting people give these guys such great shots. They sure didn't think so. And after watching Benn lose to Sugar Boy Malinga and then watching Roy knock Malinga into next week, I don't even know why it's a topic.
