I don't think Roy was ever a HUGE puncher, he just seemed to have normal punching strength I would say, but the speed of those hands helped a lot, as people have pointed out.

These days i don't think he's a very hard puncher at all, he didn't look like he was against Hanshaw and Trinidad anyway.

I think they were probably quite evenly matched prime for prime, but I'd give Jones the edge because for the most part Calzaghe obtained volume stoppages, whereas Jone got KOs with far fewer shots. Perhaps the incredible handspeed made all the difference.

Now i don't really know. We seem to have a scenario where Calzaghe's punches look ineffective but are actually more powerful than they look, whereas Jones' punches look good, crisp and effective, but don't seem to bother his opponent a huge amount. Difficult to say, heresy as I'm sure some will think that is.

jones had unquestionable power at his lower weights, and good power at light heavy. jack **** at heavyweight.

he still has more 1 punch power right now than joe calzaghe does- speed is probably pretty even though- if not maybe in joes favor

Jones used accumulation punching as well. He rarely layed guys out with one punch.. I think Pavlik has a little more raw power.
