    not so sure it was utter power....

    speed = power with roy
    I agree with you on that. He was so ****ing fast that he'd catch a guy and he wouldn't even see it coming. Those punches are always dangerous.

      Would you jab as much as other fighters when you dont really need to set up your power punches with jabs? Roy could land 6 lead left hooks in a blink of an eye.

            probably not but i liked to watch him work behind the jab more i still think he was more effective that way personally

              roy doesnt like using the jab because its a punch that can be countered more easily....

              he throws the leaping left hook, because he moves to the side of his opponent when hes finished with the hook, making it hard to counter.

              he also like the straight right hand also, he usually ducks below and moves to the side after firing one...

              With Ruiz, he used it because the speed advantage was enough where Ruiz couldnt even counter his jab.

                I agree he would be more effective but I don't really blame him for not jabbing as much. Like i said, he could pretty much land at will.

                  yeah i heard HBO say that was his reasoning behind it but when u watch his earlier fights i think he was just as effective if not more but hey i guess he knows more about Boxing than me he is rarely wrong when it comes to tactics etc

                    very good power to 68, a bit less at 75 and up, but still pretty damn good.

                      He was always a fighter who relied on speed for his power so it's hard to say how much raw power he had.
