As of now it looks like nobody's getting past Manny Pacquiao, but that could easily change. It could be Cotto, maybe Berto, etc.Comment

i Was Just Rewatching Jones/tarver Iii, And I Was So Impressed With Roy In The First 6 Rounds. He Actually Looked Like Roy Jones Again. I Remember I Was Telling All Of My Friends And Family Who Dont Watch Boxing, To Watch Roy Jones, Because He Definetly Aint Going To Be Around Forever. So Then, I Had A Bunch Of Non Boxing Fans Over My House To See This Roy Jones Who I Was Talking About Fight Glen Johnson. You Guys Obviously Know The Outcome. After Roy Got Knocked Out That Night, I Just Walked Around My Neighborhood, lost. I Couldn't Believe I Just Saw Roy Jones Get Ko'd Again. Before That, I Thought Tarver Just Landed A Lucky Shot In The Rematch, But That Johnson Ko Was Brutal. Floyd Mayweather Than Became That Untouchable P4p King, And Now That He Is Gone. Who Will Be This Generation's Whittaker, jones,or Mayweather?

Ha ha. The ironic thing is that in fact Kessler is not a bad call. He looks more likely than anyone to rule his current division and would then be able to move up to LHW where his only real competition would be Dawson and any of the old guys who are still sticking around. All that does rely on him actually being able to make fights though...
Other options are Pac, who arguably is already the P4P king, and if he were to beat Hatton at 140 would have done incredible things.
If Cotto gets past Margarito (which I think he will) then I don't see anyone who would beat him for a while, but he'd have to fight Williams and then I guess move up.
Williams himself would not be a bad shout if he were to beat Cotto or even Pavlik at 160.
And of course, Floyd will probably come back....
Ultimately though I don't think any of the guys I named are really even close to Mayweather/ RJJ skill levels, apart from Pacquiao maybe, so I'd say that P4P is going to be taking a step down from the heights in the near future.Comment

Kessler is a bad choice.
1) He just isn't that good. Yes he is a good fighter, but top dog P4P material he is not.
2) It's not like he has all that much time to improve. Guy has 40+ fights.
3) His resume is weak as it is. He really needs to step up his comp to be considered even top 10.
4) He is not american and therefore not as well known.Comment
