I can't fault him for doing this, man, boxers these days don't take risks like this anymore. It just doesn't happen.

Abraham and Kessler have been openly calling out Pavlik, it's clearly do able there end most likely, yet not once has anyone really mentioned Pavlik as ducking. Yet there's two champs there in the waiting calling him out. All Joe did is say Pavliks a possible, 2nd in preference. The double standards are immense, sorry. It's not even the case that Arum and Pavlik are saying we'll work on a fight with Kessler or Abraham, there's very little effort at all to make them for the fight after there next one even.
        Man, go away already.
Don't even act like AA or Kessler have made it apparent that they want to fight Pavlik. They both would like the payday, but know they would get brutalized and will probably be just as happy to not get the fight. If AA wanted the fight before his mandatory, it would be happening. Trust in that. Pavlik is in no way scared or reluctant to fight either one. Kessler has not said a word about Pavlik, so how do you figure he is calling him out? Besides, if he was calling him out it would be because he wants to get paid again. (like the Calzaghe fight) One more thing, Diaconu was injured when the fight was first scheduled. Maybe you should do your homework. He would not have stepped aside to delay being a world champ. Don't matter anyways. Chad would have imbarrased him.

I believe Abraham called out Pavlik in the post fight interview of his match with Miranda. Also what do you think his whole "Arthur is coming to America" schtick was all about. He wants the fight.

Now, no-one is saying Pavlik is 'scared' to face Abraham, but they are saying its a bit of a double standard the way Calzaghe is hammered for not fighting Pavlik (1 title defence two weights below Joe) but when Pavlik is actually looking and struggling to find an opponent, Abraham hardly gets mentioned, and he's a fellow title holder in the MW division with more defences than Kelly. The reality is that at MW its the only real meaningful fight there is for Kelly, along maybe with Sturm.

The reason that fight is not happening or even really being talked about is not down to Abraham, it;s down to Pavlik, as the US fighter with the network onside he holds the cards. The reason Arum doesn't mention it is because Abraham is a genuine threat to Kelly, a huge one and to take on that risk the Pavlik camp will require a lot of money. This is achieved by delaying the fight until both Abraham and Pavlik have beaten a few more opponents so that their names are bigger and it can be a big PPV. In fairness, I'm sure this will suit Abraham's people too, but it is the Pavlik camp that are in control of the situation. The bottom line is that the Abraham fight has been placed on the backburner while Kelly pursues less risky, more lucrative domestic matchups, apparently Paul Williams. This is exactly what Calzaghe is criticised for, despite having achieved masively more in his career than Pavlik has, and it is a bit of a double standard, hence KrisSilver's post.

He should fight Sergio Mora first, then move to 160. No way fight Pavlik in his FIRST FIGHT......

Has it ever been done? I know its been down from Welterweight to Middleweight back in the day with Ray Robinson, but has it been done that a fighter has jumped from Welterweight (147) to Middleweight (160), skipping over 154, and won at title? I don't think its been done.

You don't like what's being said or agree with it, so you say go away, very mature. "Don't act like AA or Kessler have made it apparent they want to fight Pavlik"? LOL, they have made it apparent, Kessler openly said it an an interview even documented on this site a little while ago that he'd fight Pavlik and wants him. AA even said it right after beating Miranda into the mic to millions. Did you miss that? I'd suggest you do your research.

Pavlik on the other hand has spoken of the two vastly less, I watch quite a few interviews, press conferences, not only does Pavlik not bring up those guys half as often as Kessler or AA or in such a strong manner of a future fight, when it is brought up he does not say yes I want to fight them this, or next fight, nothing like.

Why should anyone trust that if either Kessler or AA were willing to find a way past their mandatories to fight Pavlik earlier, that Pavlik would do so? It's possible I agree, but there's nothing in what Pavlik or his team have said to done to suggest no doubt, unlike AA or Kesslers words and actions which have been way stronger and interred they would be willing to get it on sooner rather than later. So I'm going on what's actually happened, whereas you seem to have imagined things another way in your own mind.

After the Lockett fight Max Kellerman practically ordered Pavlik to fight Abraham but Pavlik squashed the idea, saying something like "fights with foreigners are no good, nobody knows who they are." I'm not sure I've heard Abraham on any of the Pavlik people's lips since, though I could be wrong.

I would not actually be surprised if Pavlik goes through Williams (if he can!), Mora and Winky before he even thinks about Abraham. The fact is that US 'names' do not like fighting credible threats from Europe, we see it time and again ans yet the blame is always laid squarely at the feet of the euro fighters.

Well all them fights would be good to see. I have PAVLIK winning all of them. Especially if they go toe to toe with him.. I think AA and Kessler can do there own thing now while Roy and Joe fight, winner takes Pavlik... That winner takes on Kessler or AA.... that's wishful thinking though....
