This is how it would really be if Wlad was Black and American

If Wlad was american and dominant, and did what he did against sultan, tell me what you think the response would be on shows like PTI, Around the Horn and sportscenter. They would be tearing him a new *******. And in the blurbs in ESPN the magazine and SI, they would be probably saying **** like "This is our heavyweight champion? what a sad state boxing is in today"

I'm not American, so I'll have to take your word on that. But let's consider a few other things: he's a highly intelligent, articulate and well adjusted guy. He's got a decent record (in an admittedly weak division) and he's quite likely to unify the division. There is no-one else in America even close to accomplishing what Wlad could. Surely the public would get behind him. Okay his style isn't the best, but honestly what is there to dislike about him?

As for Mayweather, he was a phenomenal boxer but an arse of a man. Hence the love/hate relationship with the public. You can still be notorious (even hated) and be immensely popular - see Tyson.

It's been such a long time since America had a dominant HW champ (Holyfield) that I think the public would accept Wlad with open arms. This is not a HW era to be picky or choosy (Larry Holmes) you are not spoilt for choice or quality. So I think Wlad would be hugely popular whatever his color or ethnicity.

Why would Americans care for a Heavyweight champion when the biggest fight in it is Thompson vs Klitchko. There are so many more exciting fights in the lower weight classes Vasquez-Marquez,Pavlik-Taylor I,Cotto-Marg,I could go on and on.If you are not American don't try to gauge our opinions.

The only fighters worth watching at Mw/smw are Calzhage, Pavlik, Abraham, Taylor and possibly lacy if he gets himself in some kind of shape. For the most part, those divisions bore me. At LHW at least there is Adamek, Dawson and Tarver and possibly the others i mentioned if they move up. I watch lower weights mostly, its what i have watched my whole life. Get over it.

You consider whites to be athletically inferior, but the truth is, other things (training, desire to win, diet, focus) are what determines boxing ability, not race.

You gotta admit though Black Jesus, Danny Williams is the most popular fighter in the sport today. And I have to ask myself "is this just due to his amazing skills?"

Whats worse is that if this idiot knew any better, basketball is my favorite sport and its loaded with eastern europeans who can play and are funadmentally sound ballplayers, the center on my team is eastern european and hes really loved out here in the bay area.
