Truly Underrated Fighters

IMO MIkkel Kessler is vastly underrated, he held 2 belts and was beaten by arguably one of the best p4p fighters alive today (arguably i said!! im not committing to that statement!!), beaten names like Markus Bayer and Anthony Mundine too.Comment

After the fight with Calzhage he basically backed out of several fights that could have helped put him over the top, he basically ****ed his own career up by doing that, it was ******.
About DeJesus, you almost never see that guy mentioned, especially given his achievement you never hear anything about him, You hear him menioned about as much as Junior Jones and Frankie Randall.
Its funny to me how everyone has been on this margarito bandwagon for ages, but nobody ever really talks about isreal vasquez. You have a guy who is accomplished at his weight, has been through wars with Larios, Gonzalez and Marquez, yet even among mexicans hes practically not even mentioned. But you see guys hyping up margarito based on potential as opposed to what hes actually done.Comment

Maybe it has something to do with Marg being a Welter. And Welterweight of Margarito's time is stacked and has Mayweather in it...just maybeIts funny to me how everyone has been on this margarito bandwagon for ages, but nobody ever really talks about isreal vasquez. Also I think Ricardo Mayorga and his style are kinda underrated. Granted he has no natural skill, it's very akward and hard to fight against and it works for him.
Daisuke Naito is underrated too imo. Not as much as the other guys listed in this thread.Comment

Other ones:
Raise your hand if you have seen Hozumi Hasegawa fight before? I bet half the people on this board haven't heard of him.
Past his prime Oscar De La Hoya is underrated too imo. He's still probably the best fighter at 154 and the inactivity didn't hurt him as bad as people make it out to be. Maybe it's just because people hate Floyd, but even if Cotto were to beat De La Hoya I'd say it'd be a good win for Cotto. Oscar is a tough fight and a still a very good fighter.Comment

I will be honest with you, alot of the oscar "past his prime" talk has alot to do with underrating mayweathers win, you should have seen this place before the fight started, they deny it now, but people couldnt wait for oscar to land that left hook. that fight was hyped on here like nothing else, only after the fight do you see the **** youre seeing now.Other ones:

Hasegawa, Daisuke Naito, Eagle Kyowa, Koki Kameda, Nobuo Nashiro, i have seen all those guys in action, they dont get much talk here because of their divisions, as well as the fact that those guys are NEVER on american tv, ever. Its hilarious to think that Nashiro became world champ with 7 wins like he was playing ring king.Comment
